Generates, stores, maintains quality data packets (QDPs) and electronic communication to customers.

KEY RESULT AREAS :

  • Provides clerical support for Inspectors and Quality Engineers.
  • All quality documents are easily retrievable.
  • Quality documents and evidence of inspection results are organized and controlled.
  • First Articles and requests for deviations, concessions and nonconformances are processed in a timely manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain the record retention files on a daily basis.
  • Prepare data packages per QPR requirements.
  • Submit VRMRs (General Dynamics’ electronic system), case records or concessions per the direction of the Quality Manager / Supervisor or the Quality Engineer.
  • Submit electronic First Articles per the direction of the Quality Manager / Supervisor or the Quality Engineer.
  • Maintain records of submittals to and approvals from customers for First Articles and nonconformances.
  • Keep electronic documents organized and purged as needed.
  • Scan quality documents for electronic archiving.
  • Retrieve data and sales orders from record retention as needed.
  • Accumulate data needed for statistical analysis.
  • Interact with customers as required.
  • Provide other administrative assistance as necessary such as coordinating customer / source inspection meetings.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned, including coverage for the front desk when needed.

DESIRABLE KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION :

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a quality support role within a manufacturing environment or minimum of an associate’s degree in quality field and three years of related manufacturing based quality experience required.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project required.
  • Ability to read blue prints, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven problem-solving skills with ability to establish an effective course of action.
  • Proven participation and success in the area of continuous improvement.

  • Develop close working relationships with QC department team members and others.
