We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead financial operations for our organization in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee financial management, performance evaluation, and team leadership while driving operational efficiency and process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities :

• Manage the monthly financial close process, including preparing and approving journal entries, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Evaluate financial performance through the preparation of executive summaries and analysis of key performance metrics, ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger and reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Monitor key operational metrics, including gross profit margins and warehouse efficiency, while identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve productivity, and minimize budget variances.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, develop financial forecasts, and collaborate with management to analyze profits, control expenses, and optimize inventory management.
• Supervise and mentor an accounting team, including Senior Accountant, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable staff, ensuring timely collections and accurate deposit applications.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of sales tax forms with state, local, and Canadian provincial agencies to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
• Participate in strategic planning and departmental meetings, contributing to the development of process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making and performance improvements.
• Manage and guide accounting operations for a distribution center, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Extensive experience in full-cycle accounting processes, including financial reporting and auditing.
• Proficiency with NetSuite or similar accounting software.
• Strong knowledge of distribution center operations and financial management.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and manage foreign currency transactions.
• Proven success in overseeing and mentoring accounting teams.
• Expertise in preparing and analyzing budgets, forecasts, and operational metrics.
• Familiarity with tax compliance requirements at state, local, and international levels.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
