Sr Accountant - Construction, Business Analysis & Reporting - LKD

The BAR – Industrial Operations (IO) Support team is seeking a BAR Senior Accountant Construction. This role collaborates closely with the Business Analysis & Reporting (BAR) construction accounting team and interacts directly with contractors to ensure proper support and compliance with contract terms for payment applications, change orders, and other billings.

Primary Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the BAR Construction Accounting team and other resources to support construction activities, including on-site when necessary.
• Perform payment application reviews and ensure contractor adherence to contract agreements.
• Review and validate change orders and other contractual financial documents.
• Communicate issues identified to the BAR team, construction team, and contractors.
• Review project postings and prepare journal entries to maintain accurate SAP project balances.
• Coordinate with the BAR team and construction accounting team to develop quarterly project completion reports through data consolidation and discussions with various stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications

Additional skills include problem-solving, advanced analytical abilities, excellent communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), research and project management skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility, organizational skills, enthusiasm, initiative, confidentiality, and a commitment to Publix's mission are essential. Willingness to travel and work extended hours is also required.
