We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sales Enablement Manager to lead the planning and execution of global enablement programs at Rakuten Advertising. This role will design and manage end-to-end enablement initiatives that support commercials teams worldwide with the knowledge, tools, and training they need to succeed. In this high-visibility role, you will be responsible for supporting the operationalization and execution of our key growth initiatives, collaborating closely with teams in North America, EMEA, and Asia Pacific for Commercial Enablement, Pre-sales, Post-sales, and more to deliver results that align with business objectives.
This role will create a remarkable and equitable learning experience for our regional commercials teams to help empower their growth and achieve results. Serving as a strategic partner to various cross-functional teams throughout the organization, you will represent and advocate on behalf of your end customer. The ideal candidate should be self-driven, adept at project and stakeholder management, and able to work in an ambiguous environment with minimal guidance. The role will partner directly with the Director of Sales Enablement. Additionally, up to 20% of this role will involve supporting Product Marketing operations, which includes managing active projects, vendor relationships, contracts, and other administrative and operations-focused tasks.
Key Responsibilities :
- Business Alignment : Drive cross-functional executive alignment with Services and Commercial teams on global Sales Enablement priorities, ensuring programs directly support Rakuten's business capacity needs and revenue goals.
- Sales Enablement SME : Act as the expert on Sales and Customer Services best practices, leveraging innovative programs and industry insights to meet the diverse needs of each commercial group.
- Work closely with Sales Management leadership to define and support engagement and adoption for the company's sales methodology and process via dynamic training initiatives.
Program Design & Management :
Program Management : Oversee the design, review, and implementation of end-to-end enablement programs for all roles within the Commercial organization. This includes managing workstreams, deliverables, and timelines while proactively addressing any blockers or risks to achieve business objectives.Talent Success : Lead the development of comprehensive training and enablement collateral or tools to build deep skill sets and capabilities within the commercial organization, fostering continuous professional growth.Content Creation & Delivery :
Content Creation : Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product, Marketing, Sales Solutions) to produce relevant, high-impact enablement materials, including playbooks, toolkits, and best practices, ensuring consistency in messaging and brand representation.Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement :
Metrics & Reporting : Define, track, and report on key metrics to measure the impact and effectiveness of enablement programs, ensuring initiatives drive measurable business outcomes and demonstrate clear ROI.Continuous Improvement : Regularly assess enablement needs, make data-driven decisions to enhance program impact, optimize learning experiences, and address challenges in the acquisition process.Stakeholder Engagement & Communication :
Stakeholder Communication and Management : Build strong rapport and partnerships with commercial teams, stakeholders, and functional leaders across the organization. Effectively communicate company strategies and program requirements, proactively address concerns and issues, and anticipate risks with mitigation approaches.Enablement Technology & Vendor Management : Manage relationships with key enablement technology vendors (e.g., Gong, Highspot), overseeing renewals, evaluating new product releases, and optimizing tool utilization to maximize value and drive commercial team efficiency.Qualifications :
Experience & Background : Minimum of 2-4 years of progressive experience in B2B technology enablement, commercial operations, or a direct sales or client services role, with a proven track record of managing complex, global projects from inception to completion.Demonstrated experience working with 3rd party sales, suppliers, and external vendors.Strong understanding of acquisition processes and the unique challenges faced by sales teams in acquiring new hosts or customers.Experience across the entire Customer Lifecycle, including pre-sales, sales, and customer success enablement.Proven experience onboarding new sales representatives and supporting their ongoing learning and development.Technical & Functional Skills : Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, complex workstreams, and diverse stakeholders simultaneously.Strong strategic and critical-thinking skills; able to connect disparate information, proactively develop innovative proposals, and drive solutions.Experience working with CRM and sales enablement tools (e.g., Highspot, Gong).Leadership & Interpersonal Skills : Proven track record as a highly effective cross-functional business partner, with the ability to lead, influence, and build strong relationships across complex organizations and with executive leadership.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.Strong business acumen and the ability to build rapport and partner effectively with other executives and leaders.Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative team environments and as an independent contributor.Education & Work Ethic : Bachelor's degree required.Professional and consistent work habits, a strong work ethic, and a driven approach to achieving company goals.Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and consistently maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications :

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
