Plutonium Infrastructure Directorate Manager
The Associate Laboratory Directorate, Plutonium Infrastructure (ALDPI), at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) manages the execution of major capital projects related to the infrastructure required to meet plutonium pit production deliverables. This is an opportunity for an exceptional project professional to work directly with senior leadership to ensure execution of the new Plutonium Infrastructure Directorate capital construction project portfolio. The Directorate is at the center of execution of capital projects in and around the Los Alamos National Laboratory's plutonium pit production facilities for U.S. nuclear weapons and is focused on sustaining the current stockpile; providing life extensions of the stockpile; and helping to ensure the safety, security, and effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear deterrent.
Reporting to the Pit Infrastructure Project-Program Director under the Senior Director for Line-Item Projects, this position is critically important to the safe and efficient implementation of programmatic elements. As a Manager of Projects 3 (MOP3), you will direct project resources in the execution of construction projects under ALDPI-LIP's Pit Infrastructure portfolio and assure performance against relevant prime contract elements. You will assign and manage field resources, provide training and mentorship for personnel on assigned scope, be responsible for interpreting design, interact directly with key project stakeholders, and assist with Integrated Safety Management (ISM). This position will report administratively to a MOP 4 or higher.

Education / Experience : Position requires a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 5 years related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

This position may require 24 / 7 coverage, which could involve working a shift schedule. Employees may be eligible for shift differential pay when assigned by their manager. Shift assignments are at the discretion of the manager.
