EVS Trainer
Summary
This role works closely with the EVS Education Manager to fulfill all EVS educational requirements and maintain working relationships with internal / external departments and vendors.
Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services onboarding and training program.
Experience and Education
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Two (2) or more years of training or educational teaching experience. Previous experience in housekeeping functions is preferred but not required.
- Read, Write, Speak English.
- Customer service experience highly recommended.
- Proficient computer technology skills (Microsoft word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
Job Duties
- Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services onboarding and training program.
- Responsible for the education of current and new EVS team members.
- Responsible for teaching and guiding housekeeping staff, evaluating their progress, writing, or reviewing educational material, etc.
- Mentoring and training current and future staff on EVS policies and procedures.
- Maintains required records, reports, and statistics as directed.
- Designing, delivering, and evaluating educational curriculum.
- Conduct weekly employee audits and building inspections.
- Department onboarding for new hires.
- Educating the EVS staff in using new technology.
- Cleans and maintains patient care, staff, and visitor areas.
- Performs terminal cleaning procedures of patient areas.
- Dusts furniture, woodwork, equipment, and dusts / mops floors.
- Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials. (Includes multiple waste streams)
- Mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
- Attends educational programs and in-service meetings as required.
- Completes and maintains all job performance requirements and standards as established in Career Ladder Program, including the disciplinary action section.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Resourceful, dependable, detail-orientated, extremely organized, skilled at task prioritization and time management.
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality, with a customer service focus and knowledge of compliance with all EVS policies and procedures.
- Motivated and dedicated trainer, and up to date with the latest computer technology (Microsoft word, PowerPoint, excel, etc.
and regulatory requirements within the department, Institution, and Industry.
They should also demonstrate strong verbal and written communication and critical thinking skills with a proactive approach towards problem solving
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily in a hospital or hospital clinic environment. Walking, standing, bending, turning and stooping.
- Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his / her designee.
