We are seeking Quichua (Salasaca Highland Dialect) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. This rare indigenous dialect of Ecuadorian Quichua, spoken in the Salasaca community of the Tungurahua Province, is often needed in asylum and immigration cases.
Responsibilities
Provide real-time Quichua (Salasaca) English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.Deliver interpretation with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration and asylum contexts.Maintain strict confidentiality under USCIS / DHS interpreter standards.Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge requests.Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews.Qualifications
Native or near-native fluency in Quichua (Salasaca Highland Dialect) and English.2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, asylum, NGO, or community preferred).Strong knowledge of Andean indigenous cultural contexts.Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and neutrality standards.Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance.Compensation & Benefits
