Driving and Deliveries :
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and legally, following Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations trucking regulations
- Transport goods and materials over land, navigating various routes and weather conditions
- Meet delivery deadlines while ensuring efficient fuel usage
- Perform pre-trip inspections to identify and report any mechanical problems
Cargo Handling :
- Securely load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of shipments based on bills of lading
- Maintain a clean and organized truck environment
Documentation and Compliance :
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and deliveries
- Complete paperwork associated with shipments (bills of lading, delivery receipts)
- Comply with company safety protocols and procedures
Additional Skills :
- Excellent communication and customer service skills for interacting with shippers and receivers
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to manage time effectively
- Physical fitness to perform loading / unloading tasks
