Our client, Tesla Motors, is seeking a Process Engineer to implement, develop, and optimize production methodologies in Tesla's manufacturing operations. The role involves optimizing product flow through process improvements such as tool / fixture selection, line layouts, ergonomic studies, and material presentation. The engineer will collaborate with design, test, and quality teams to solve problems, enhance manufacturability, and drive continuous improvement, including cost reduction and yield enhancements. Additionally, the process engineer will work with quality to analyze data and define process or material specifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop expertise in manufacturing processes, analyze process capabilities, and improve line layouts using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Optimize production processes for safety, efficiency, and quality, leading continuous improvement projects to maximize yield and capacity.
- Diagnose manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and utilize structured problem-solving techniques such as DMAIC, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys.
- Create data collection and analysis tools to enable data-driven decisions, integrating factory data systems and software like MySQL, Python, R, JMP, Minitab, Tableau, and Ignition.
- Support activities including 5S, lean manufacturing, material handling, and safety procedures.
- Monitor process variation using SPC and MSA, maintain FMEAs and Control Plans, and manage engineering change processes.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing instructions, routings, and rework procedures, supporting 24 / 7 production operations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and experience in high-volume, automated manufacturing.At least 4 years of experience in process development and improvement, with a proven track record of OEE enhancements.Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with structured techniques like DMAIC, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys.Experience with test, control, and data acquisition equipment and software.Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.Innovative mindset aligned with Teslas approach to product development.Passion for creating high-quality products and leveraging testing for continuous improvement.#J-18808-Ljbffr
