An opening is available for a Substitute Registered Nurse (RN) to support student health services at multiple sites across the district. This role ensures continuity of care when regular nursing staff are unavailable, maintaining a safe and healthy learning climate.
Responsibilities / Duties :
Provide clinical care to students including assessment, intervention and documentation of health-concerns and emergencies.
Administer medications, maintain health records, coordinate referrals and communicate with staff, families and community health providers.
Monitor and implement individualized student health plans, oversee screenings and follow-up as appropriate.
Provide health-education guidance, support wellness initiatives and advise on infection control practices.
Travel to substitute across various school locations, adjust to different student populations and maintain accurate reporting.
Ensure compliance with Washington’s school health rules and district protocols.
Qualifications / Desired Experience :
Active Washington State RN license.
Experience in school nursing or pediatric / community health preferred.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and clinical judgment skills.
Ability to work independently in changing school environments and respond calmly in health situations.
Must complete state fingerprint background check and obtain clearance.
Flexibility to cover different campuses and schedules as required.
