Job descriptionProvide real-time Romanian English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders. Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and professionalism in immigration, legal, and administrative settings. Maintain confidentiality in line with USCIS / DHS compliance standards. Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent / surge calls. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and QA audits. Native or near-native fluency in Romanian and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, healthcare, or government preferred). Strong knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity. Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3 / Tier 5 clearance. Competitive pay : $2530 / hour. Remote work via secure USCIS-approved platforms. Paid training and continuing professional development. Steady assignments under a federal contract. Growth opportunities in linguist leadership or quality assurance. Resume / CV highlighting Romanian interpreting experience. Certifications (court, ATA, medical, or community interpreting credentials preferred). Availability for full-time or contractor roles.
