Job Description
Structural Engineer
Johnson Service Group is searching for a Structural Engineer on a long-term contract basis to support the Sentinel Program, which is modernizing the ground-based leg of the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) systems and launch infrastructure. This will entail originating structural calculations, specifications, material requisitions, and technical studies or reports. Additionally, checking of design drawings and review, and coordination of vendor information. Work with other Structural engineers and technical disciplines in a team environment.
- Targeted pay for this position is $65.00 / Hour
- Local candidates preferred, although (per diem and Mob / Demob will be considered for out-of-state candidates).
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
Registered Engineer in Training (E.I.T. or equivalent)
Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of DefenseExperience with Microsoft Office programs and other common computer programsExcellent communication skills (both verbal and written)Working knowledge and application of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, IBC, and ASCE 7Broad knowledge of the application of Structural engineering design principles.Previous experience using structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL or STAAD.ProPREFERRED QUALIFICATION :
Experience executing engineering and design with Tekla softwareDesign experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design GuideIntermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact.Registered Professional Engineer in the USA (Civil or Structural Engineering)Master's degree in Structural or related Engineering discipline from an accredited universityPossess active security clearanceFUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Designs structures using knowledge of structural analysis, including statics, dynamics, and materials engineeringOriginates structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitionsPrepare specifications and related documentsPrepares procurement and subcontract requisition documents and performs associated technical bid evaluations with award recommendationsProvides direct support to other engineering disciplines for structural-related mattersReviews of structural drawings and design detailsPrepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposalsCoordinates work and collaborate with other engineering disciplinesAssists in the preparation of quantity takeoffs.Assists in constructability reviewsJSG offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, short-term disability, 401(k), weekly pay, and more.
