This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Director of Security Operations & Engineering in the United States .
This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-impact technical security organization, protecting critical cloud, infrastructure, and corporate environments. You will unify Security Operations, Cloud and Infrastructure Security, and Threat Detection into a cohesive team that ensures data safety and regulatory compliance. This hands-on leadership position involves architecting secure systems, driving automation, managing incident response, and mentoring engineers and analysts. You will collaborate across product, engineering, and IT teams to embed security by design while enhancing detection, response, and overall resilience. The role requires strategic vision, operational excellence, and a proactive approach to emerging threats in a dynamic, regulated environment.
Accountabilities :
- Lead and develop teams responsible for cloud security engineering, network / infrastructure security, and security operations.
- Define and execute the technical security roadmap aligned with business objectives and compliance requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Serve as the senior technical authority for all security tools, controls, and automation initiatives.
- Manage and evolve incident detection, response, and threat hunting capabilities to ensure rapid containment and remediation.
- Architect and maintain secure cloud environments, applying Zero Trust principles and leveraging infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Oversee identity and access management, network segmentation, endpoint protection, and perimeter defenses.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to embed secure design principles into product and operational lifecycles.
- Continuously evaluate emerging technologies and implement automation, benchmarking, and best practices for enterprise security.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in information security, including at least 5 years in technical leadership roles.Hands-on expertise with cloud security (AWS required; Azure or GCP a plus), incident detection and response, network security, and vulnerability management.Experience designing, implementing, and operating secure SaaS infrastructures in regulated industries.Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash), CI / CD integration, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks such as HIPAA, HITRUST, and ISO 27001.Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary technical teams, driving security strategy, and mentoring staff.Preferred : Advanced security certifications (CISSP, CCSP, GIAC), container / Kubernetes security experience, EDR / MDR solutions, and prior ownership of 24x7 security operations in a cloud-native organization.Benefits
