This candidate will use their knowledge of the general concepts of civil, transportation, and traffic engineering in developing transportation design and planning solutions.
Responsible for development and design of traffic engineering projects, preparing traffic studies, signal timing plans, operations analyses, microsimulation modeling, and preparing technical reports.
Prepares project plans and drawings for various projects including traffic signal design and intersection improvements. Performs research, obtains traffic data for studies, prepares calculations, and conducts transportation analyses.
Responsible for preparing and collaborating technical activities on assigned projects and managing project budget and schedule.
Performs field work as directed by a senior engineer.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s in civil or transportation engineering required.
Licensed Professional Engineer ( in the state of Texas
3+ years of experience required.
Basic experience using MicroStation and / or AutoCAD, Synchro, VISSIM and TRANSCAD required.
Familiar with concepts and standards of the MUTCD, HCM and AASHTO Geometric Design.
Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applications and design would be a plus.
Ability to participate and collaborate within a project team setting.
Self-directed and ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
Solid time and budget management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and technical writing skills.
