org . In 2014, we created New Profit’s Catalyze Investments to address the significant lack of investment in organizations with leaders and focus areas that have historically been underinvested in, such as democracy reform and criminal justice.

Through Catalyze Investments, we identify and invest in high potential early-stage organizations led by diverse social entrepreneurs working in historically underinvested areas.

We also build organizations’ capacity to accelerate their growth and transition to mid-stage organizations. To date, we have supported 88 organizations across over 10 cohorts and have deployed $6M+ in direct investments.

POSITION DESCRIPTION New Profit seeks an energetic, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual to lead events logistics for the Catalyze Investments team, including in-person convenings and virtual webinars that host a range of participants, from 10-150, as well as support other New Profit Portfolio events.

The Manager, Events will be a member of New Profit’s Portfolio team. The Manager is responsible for leading events work-planning, budget management, logistics and ensuring a flawlessly executed onsite experience for New Profit’s convenings.

The person in this role will work closely with the Portfolio team, Catalyze Investments team, Operations team, and Finance teams to project manage events design and execution, track expenses against the events budget, build and maintain relationships with vendors, manage onsite logistics at all events, as well as customer service engagement with participants before, during and following events.

This role will be essential in delivering intimate events for Social Entrepreneurs that provide joy, restoration, and overall reflects New Profit’s values of building a multiracial, intergenerational, cross-sector movement.

A successful Manager will develop comprehensive tools and systems to track event progress, manage colleagues towards deadlines and key milestones, lead team-level design meetings, and proactively drive work forward while remaining adaptable.

A key element of our success to date is rooted in our commitment to designing convenings that inspire, energize, and strengthen our community by closely linking event logistics with the content being delivered.

WHAT YOU WILL DO In partnership with cohort and portfolio leads determine operational plan and logistics for Catalyze Investments and other portfolio in-person convenings including, but not limited to, location recommendations, venue search, registration, vendor selection and oversight, food and beverage, travel and accommodations, and onsite meeting needs Manage relationships,communications, and contracts with venue representatives, vendors, and independent contractors in advance of and during events to ensure successful experiences for participants Track and monitor ongoing expenses to ensure alignment with events budgets Propose, implement, and maintain centralized systems and / or tools for tracking events planning and timeline, execution, and close-out Plan and lead ongoing meetings with internal teams to present updates, workshop questions, and finalize decisions Work with New Profit staff, contractors, and others to support the development and production of convening materials including agendas, event logistics / FAQ guides, pre- and post-event communications, and calendar invites Source and implement onsite wellness experiences (e.

g. meditation, sound baths, massages) for participants Manage logistics for Catalyze webinars including zoom set-up and management as well as other digital tools to facilitate adult learning Demonstrate strong relational skills including ability to communicate with event participants and other important stakeholders with professionalism and warmth Expected to attend at least 6 in-person events across the U.

S. in 2024, with the potential for additional travel as needed WHO YOU ARE 4-5 years of events experience with a strong record of achievement and ability to successfully and independently manage relationships and negotiate event and venue contracts Superior project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to track and juggle various projects and events simultaneously to deliver high-quality results on time at the individual and team level Superior detail-orientation and deadline-driven work ethic, as part of an unwavering commitment to quality and customer service High level of interpersonal maturity and poise, including grace under pressure A comfort with and willingness to manage up thereby ensuring that senior team members stay informed and supported to meet their commitments Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to professionally represent New Profit to all constituents Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Patience and creativity to adjust course as necessary Curiosity about industry trends and best practices in event management and programming to continuously enhance event quality and impact Administrative experience with budgets, expenses, contracts, and project management COMPENSATION & BENEFITS The salary range for this position will be $92,110 - $105,412 annually, with the exact salary depending on prior work experience and the assessment of one's fit for the role.
