POSITION FUNCTION / PURPOSE :

Assist in the instruction and management of students as directed by the teacher.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Assist teachers and students in the use of computers, printers, and instructional software

2. Work cooperatively with teacher to identify student placement in instructional software

3. Input data and maintain physical and computeriLed files on student progress and use of

instructional programs

4. Manage student behavior in computer lab

5. Maintain confidentiality of all information handled

6. Maintain computer lab in a neat and orderly manner

7. Perform computer backups on a regular basis

8. Install a variety of computer programs following complex written instructions

9. Detect and arrange for maintenance and repair on computer equipment

10. Aid in the supervision of students during arrival and dismissal from school

11. Assist with workroom duties as needed to support instructional needs of teacher

12. Participate in professional development training

13. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned and allowable with grant agreement

14. All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting

requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification as appropriate

15. Duties performed by personnel fully grant funded must be 100% related to the grant’s goals and

objectives within grant parameters.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

• Demonstrated initiative and a willingness to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth / development and behavior characteristics.
• Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills required to meet the goals of the position.
• Demonstrated ability to relate to students and parents in a positive manner.
