Data Systems Engineer

1. 5+ years of systems engineer experience

• Doing upgrades and installations of database management systems and applications
• Troubleshooting app across networks, API's, working closely with network engineer

2. Experience working with SQL Servers newer than version 2014

3. Experience with basic SQL

• looking at logs , how are they performing on table, etl process how long something is running

This resource will be installing applications, managing security, updating data scripts, upgrading servers and applications.

Familiarity with Active Directory and SQL is a must.

Will be working on upgrades and patches

Needs Windows and Linux experience (Linux most important as they have team members who are strong in Windows)

Experience supporting a data warehouse is a huge plus.

This position is more systems focused than data (A systems engineer with some data experience, specifically SQL)

• Description

Our customer is looking for a Data Systems Engineer to join their Enterprise Datawarehouse team.

Day to day :

Analyzes, optimizes, implements, and maintains our client's Multi-Platform Server and cloud based back-end computing environment.

Implements, and maintains security technologies for all Multi-Platform Server-based systems throughout the enterprise.

Researches, audits, tests, and sets standards for server operating systems, hardware, server virtualization, and cloud technologies to ensure compatibility and functionality in the enterprise.

Installs and configures server hardware in the corporate data centers.

Audits, optimizes, and maintains the corporate Active Directory back-end architecture.

Implements Group Policy and scripts (using various technologies) to manipulate server functionality to meet business and security needs in the enterprise.

Audits, optimizes, implements, and maintains highly available and fault tolerant back-end systems for the enterprise. These include, but are not limited to, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft File Services, Microsoft SharePoint, IBM AIX, Power VM, RedHat Linux, Enterprise Faxing, Enterprise Printing, VMware ESX, and Citrix technologies.

Independently develops reference materials (network diagrams, installation documentation, etc.) for supported network technologies to be used for both online and in-person training of other technical staff.

Manages assigned projects and meets deadlines with minimal supervision from Supervisor and / or Manager.

Serves as both a professional and technical mentor to other System Engineers.

Proactively identifies areas of improvement (process or technical) and develops plans for associated changes required.

Interfaces with clients, vendors, and other teams on multi-faceted projects involving Multi-Platform server and cloud technologies.

Interfaces with clients, vendors, and multiple teams while providing resolution to problem incidents as escalated from the Technology Service Center.

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $90000.00 / yr.
