Dean of Student Care and Conduct
Reporting directly to the Vice President & Dean of Student Life, the Dean of Student Care and Conduct provides leadership to Moody’s student care and conduct processes.
Essential Functions

- Serve as the chief student conduct and care officer providing high level leadership and direction to student case management protocols.
- Monitor Student care and conduct cases, Public Safety reports, and Student Life incident reports ensuring the progression and completion of care action plans and adjudication follow-up actions
- Provide supervision, direction, and support to Health Service and Counseling Services and integrate emotional, physical health and well-being initiatives across campus.
- Supervise, direct, and support the Student Conduct, Care, and Housing Administrator.
- Create routine monthly and annual reports to the Vice President & Dean of Student Life and report serious developments or problems to leadership as soon as possible.
- Provide leadership, coordination, and support to on-call student care, conduct, and crisis response team on Moody’s main campus.
- Lead weekly Conduct / Care Team meetings on Chicago’s campus.
- Provide leadership, coordination, and support to student care and conduct cases and crisis response for the Spokane, Michigan, MTS, and distance learning campuses, maintaining consistency of standards and protocols of conduct and care case management across all educational modalities.
- Provide leadership to Student Life Committee.
- Maintain and develop all written student care and conduct policies and protocols across all the Institute’s educational venues and modalities.
- Maintain functional awareness of institutional compliance standards that are required and support the practical implementation and documentation of these obligations including the Title IV drug and alcohol policy & Clery Act Crime and Fire Reporting.
- Develop and enhance the electronic documentation process of student care and conduct case management software.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain a living / learning environment that encourages students’ academic success and maturity in Christ.
- Maintain professional vibrancy to monitor trends, collect ideas, and evaluate successful techniques and programs to provide cutting edge Christian response.
- Acts as a resource to students, faculty, and staff regarding student care and conduct issues and the operation of the BETA team (which deals with students of concern).
- Serves on ad hoc committees as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Vice President & Dean of Student Life.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Student Development, Counseling, or related field (Seminary)
- Over five years of progressive leadership experience in residence life, student development, or student programs.
- Passion for working with students,
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Successful manager of people
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Budgetary competence
- Committed to lifelong learning and personal development.
- Able to work in the US legally without sponsorship
Preferred Requirements
- Ph. D. in Student Development Counseling, or related field.
- Knowledge and experience with all Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Operates within a standard office environment in a college context. Computer competencies are necessary, with an aptitude for learning new programs and systems.
Occasional weekend and evening hours are possible as the academic calendar or programs require. There is some travel expected, mainly for professional development.
The ADRL is always available for emergency situations.
