Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract job with a client in Seattle, WA (Hybrid) . The ideal candidate will lead software initiatives, develop mission-critical applications, and ensure stable, high-quality deliverables.

Rate Range : $66 / hour to $70 / hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Java Developer job responsibilities include :

Develop and maintain scalable, high-performance applications using Java / J2EE, ensuring they meet business requirements and align with architectural guidelines.

Design and implement RESTful and SOAP Web Services to support business functionality and integration needs.

Work closely with business units, architects, and external teams to deliver software solutions on time and within budget, while also providing feedback and technical guidance to project managers.

Ensure code quality through unit testing, performance testing, and code optimization; troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.

Utilize Oracle SQL / PLSQL, including the design of tables and stored procedures, to manage and interact with databases efficiently.

Work in Agile environments, attending regular sprints and ensuring deliverables are met in each phase of development.

Coordinate with distributed development teams across regions to handle cross-functional issues and deliver project milestones.

Document software designs, write technical specifications, and create prototypes to prove design concepts.

Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and frameworks to drive improvements in software development practices and project efficiency.

Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers while also supporting strategic direction for individual initiatives.

Desired Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in Java development, with a focus on building large-scale enterprise and distributed applications.

Strong proficiency in Java / J2EE, RESTful services, Spring Framework (Spring Boot), and SOAP Webservices.

Experience working with Oracle SQL / PLSQL, Apache Kafka, and NoSQL databases (such as Cassandra), along with knowledge of Agile development processes and SDLC.

Pay Details : $66.00 to $70.00 per hour
