Description & Requirements Maximus is seeking a Sr. Java Developer. Per VES contract requirements, staff working on the VES project must be a US Citizen or US Legal Resident (green card holders) Essential Duties and Responsibilities : - Provide design and implementation expertise to a cross-functional software development team. - Design and develop Java applications from business requirements in collaboration with other team members. - Support testing and remediate defects. - May mentor entry and mid-level developers. Key Responsibilities :

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and enhance Java applications that meet complex business needs.
• Translate business requirements into high-quality, maintainable software solutions using modern Java frameworks and tools.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, enterprise-grade components, and integration layers with downstream systems.
• Participate in code reviews, unit / integration testing, and performance tuning to ensure production-ready quality.
• Support defect triaging and remediation efforts through all phases of SDLC including UAT and production support.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, design reviews, and proof-of-concepts.
• Mentor and support entry- and mid-level developers, promoting a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Stay current with evolving industry trends and recommend best practices. Required Qualifications :
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Java / J2EE enterprise application development.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Hibernate / JPA, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with modern DevOps practices and tools such as Git, CI / CD pipelines, Docker, and Jenkins.
• Understanding of relational databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and writing optimized SQL queries.
• Proven ability to work in agile / scrum environments, deliver high-quality code, and meet project timelines. Minimum Requirements - Bachelor's degree in related field. - 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required. - Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree. Experience integrating with Salesforce, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
• Exposure to legacy system modernization or migration projects.
• Familiarity with Kafka, event-driven design, or other messaging frameworks.

Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. Minimum Salary $ 119,600.00 Maximum Salary $ 140,000.00
