Job Summary

Vertiv is currently seeking a Software Product Manager with a background in Data Center Infrastructure management, or similar field, to help define and build the future of our software application & services offer.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a solid understanding of the data center and edge markets and leverage their experience in delivering and supporting management solutions to the global marketplace.

This is a highly visible role within the organization, working closely with our development and software engineering functions.

Responsibilities :

  • Use your deep insights into target markets, the competitive landscape, customer needs, and industry trends to inform product strategy.
  • Able to utilize software and networking knowledge to converse with customers and stakeholders to address needs and concerns on areas such as security, compliance, data privacy and sovereignty concerns.
  • Own the vision and strategy for Vertiv software and services, with the goal to improve the user experience and drive application adoption.
  • Drive product development project teams, championing new product proposals and development through to commercialization.
  • Own short- and long-term feature definition based on a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and competition.

You will lead the product lifecycle through various stages from inception to launch to continuous improvement.

  • Partner with engineering to drive successful product releases. You will be engineering's connection to our customers and will be responsible for bringing them along for the ride.
  • Engage frequently with customers and community members to learn about their needs, and support sales and customers in a pre- and post-sales capacity.
  • Envision and deliver new capabilities from concept to launch and rollout, including customer validation, marketing plans, documentation, and field enablement.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, services, product marketing, and sales.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to develop messaging and content in a variety of forms (written, recorded, live presentation) for deployment in a number of digital marketing communication channels (web experience, e-mail, social and third party)
  • Work in partnership with field sales and support teams to define aspects of commercialization plans, such as sales training, customer training resources and field competency for successful hand-off and backing of field teams.

Requirements :

  • 5-8 years related work experience in launching, supporting, and marketing enterprise software solutions.
  • Experience with formal product development processes, with a track record of applying rigor to drive to commercial success.
  • Knowledge of the data center and / or edge infrastructure market.
  • Experience marketing to data center and IT professionals
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working in cross functional teams, both local and remote, with effective ability communicating product strategy, driving stakeholders to shared vision and goals.
  • Excellent communication ability in written, verbal, and in live presentation settings
  • Ability to convey technical information at the appropriate level of detail depending on the context (g., published collateral, customer presentations, sales training material, senior management reviews)
  • Ability to travel approximately 20%, including international travel.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
