Responsibilities :

  • Meet with business unit representatives to define and evaluate routine business automation needs. Interpret business specifications to prepare for analysis / design functions.
  • Participate in systems analysis, general systems design, and detail systems design.
  • Generate, test, and document program code. Debug and resolve problems of moderate difficulty.
  • Modify existing applications programs or writes new programs of basic to moderate complexity and scope, working with applications systems designs and specifications and utilizing standards, procedures, and techniques.
  • Install, configure, and support applications running on Windows Server
  • Research and resolve problems in the production environment.
  • Assist others with debugging whenever necessary.
  • Responsible to acquire training, as needed, and will learn user functions, organization, and role in the enterprise to the extent required.
  • Systems to support, administer and improve :
  • ProCede
  • Runs on Windows Server + SQLServer.
  • Technologies : CMD / Bat + C# .Net + Microfocus Cobol.
  • ProCede Admin skills are desirable, but insurance background and aptitude to learn ProCede / Reinsurance will work
  • Smaller Vendor Supplied Systems :
  • Wells Fargo Travel & Expense
  • Others...
  • PRD Web
  • Runs on Windows Server + SQL Server
  • Web app written using MVC

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of experience in windows application / system administration
  • Understanding of Insurance and / or reinsurance desirable.
  • OR Financial / Accounting system experience desirable
  • Ability to easily move between multiple projects at any given time.
  • Requires excellent communication skills, analytic ability, strong judgment and the ability to work directly with customers and IT management and staff.
  • Requires the interest and ability to acquire a deep knowledge of business functions and systems, and offer application development technological alternatives.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • College degree Computer Science, or other related field preferred.
  • Java Development Experience
  • MVC & C# .Net Development Experience
  • ProCede experience helpful

Salary range : $90,000 - $130,000. The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint.
