Through the years, they have expanded their experience to include generator sales and service. They also offer 24-hour on-call emergency service, so they are there when customers need them most.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee all accounts receivable activities, support accounts payable oversight, and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. This role is essential in maintaining clean financial records, facilitating customer collections, and supporting broader administrative and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the full accounts receivable process, including billing, cash application, aging reports, collections, and lien filings.

Process invoices, progress billings, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.

Generate monthly customer billing, investigate payment discrepancies, and resolve open credit issues.

Record customer payments and deposits (checks, ACH, credit cards), and post them to the AR system.

Prepare and collect lien waivers from subcontractors when required.

Post miscellaneous receipts to general ledger accounts.

Monitor and manage collections, resolve AR issues, and maintain clean account balances.

Maintain up-to-date customer files with accurate contact and account information.

Administer the customer credit application process and perform credit reference checks.

Ensure compliance with federal and state laws regarding taxes and documentation.

Prepare accurate financial documentation, ensure data integrity, and support audits.

Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to monthly cash forecasting and reporting.

Support job costing and ensure proper cost coding and reporting accuracy.

Record ACH and bank withdrawals related to payroll taxes, benefits, and sales tax.

File monthly sales tax returns and support compliance requirements.

Assist accounts payable as needed, ensuring proper coding and approvals.

Review job cost reports and assist with closing jobs company-wide.

Contribute to team efforts by participating in cross-functional initiatives and meetings.

Perform other tasks as assigned to support department and company goals.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or service industry.

High school diploma required; additional accounting education or certifications preferred.

Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and financial systems.

Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Skills

Experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct and Timberscan preferred).

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.

Compensation & Location

This position will be based out of Westport, MA. This is a full-time position that is available for immediate hire. A meaningful compensation package will be developed for the successful candidate that will include a base salary, discretionary bonus based on company performance, 401K plan with company match, and comprehensive health and dental benefits.
