CH: Anesthesiology (Full-time, Variable) -

The Anesthesia Technician sets up, assembles and reprocesses anesthesia instruments and equipment required for age-specific (neonate, infant, toddler, preschooler, school age, adolescent, young adult, middle adult, later adult) patients. Assists anesthesiologists. Manages inventory and restocking of supplies and equipment. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among a culturally diverse workforce and patient population. These services may be provided for both the LLUMC and LLUCH hospitals. Performs other duties as needed.
High School Diploma or GED required. Successful completion of specialty equipment training by end of introductory period. Minimum two years of experience related to Anesthesia Services preferred.
Able to use computer, printer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment; perform technical anesthesia activities. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to read, write legibly and speak in English with professional quality. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; perform basic math functions; manage multiple
assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Able to distinguish colors as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace and patient.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required. Anesthesia Technician certification preferred.
