About the Role

The Company is seeking a Board Chair to serve as the lead governance officer and play a pivotal role in guiding the organization's strategic vision, ensuring financial sustainability, and fostering strong partnerships. The successful candidate will be a compassionate and community-minded individual, deeply aligned with the mission of the organization. Key responsibilities for the Board Chair include providing strategic leadership to the board, ensuring its effective and collaborative functioning, and leading the planning and execution of board activities. The role also involves a strategic partnership with the Executive Director, particularly in the areas of leadership, fundraising, and organizational decision-making. Applicants for the Board Chair position at the company should have a strong commitment to its mission and values, demonstrated leadership experience, and authentic relationship-building skills. The ideal candidate will be able to lead with compassion, accountability, and vision, and will be expected to champion efforts to build a strong financial foundation and support fundraising strategies. While not mandatory, experience in nonprofit governance, fund development, or financial strategy is preferred. The role requires a 4-year term commitment, with the potential for renewal, and involves 4-6 board meetings per year, as well as additional committee work and community representation.
