Position Summary : We are seeking a highly motivated Civil Construction Project Engineer to support field operations and project management on heavy civil projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in dirt work, utility installation, and paving, and will play a key role in coordinating technical activities, managing documentation, and ensuring project milestones are met.
Key Responsibilities :
- Review civil plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports for constructability
- Assist with earthwork and utility quantity takeoffs using AGTEK or similar software
- Coordinate survey layout and control with field crews
- Track daily production for excavation, trenching, pipe installation, and paving activities
- Maintain redline drawings and compile as-built documentation
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and field directives using Procore or HCSS HeavyJob
- Support procurement and delivery of materials including aggregates, pipe, concrete, and asphalt
- Schedule and coordinate subcontractors for curb / gutter, striping, and final paving
- Monitor trench safety and ensure compliance with OSHA and SWPPP requirements
- Assist with pay applications, change orders, and budget tracking
- Participate in punch list walks and project closeout
