OUR MISSION : To empower, prepare, and inspire students to achieve their highest potential and become active citizens who work toward building a more just, humane, and sustainable world by providing a democratic, arts-enriched, and nurturing school environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION : Under the direction of the School Director, serve as an art teacher through planning, delivering, and assessing culturally responsive and engaging art lessons aligned with the California Common Core Standards, English Learner Standards and Visual and Performing Arts Standards. Teachers drive the mission and vision of the school forward by leading students to think about the social inequities in the world and inspiring students to enact change.
Teaching at Arts in Action Community Schools is unique in the following ways :

- Significant funding for art supplies / equipment / guest artists / field trips
- Multiple structures for creating a strong school culture, including AIA Creed, Advisory, social-emotional curriculum, and Restorative Justice practices

- Full-time counseling and behavior team on staff to support students and families with behavior and students’ socio-emotional well-being

RESPONSIBILITIES :
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
WAGE AND BENEFITS : This is a full-time, 10-month salaried position. The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience; a competitive benefits package is included. The salary range is $68,000 - $101,871 annually. Teachers are compensated based on their placement on a salary scale divided into the following categories : developing, lead, or distinguished teacher. Compensation is determined based on years of teaching, expertise, and education units.
