Project Manager

Charleston, SC • On-Site • Full-Time $65,000.00 - $80,000.00/year, commensurate with experience

Audio Warehouse is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead our field teams through some of the most technically demanding luxury installations in the Lowcountry - from scope and scheduling through final walkthrough, keeping every job on track and every technician set up to do their best work.

About Audio Warehouse

Founded in 1985, Audio Warehouse has spent over 40 years building an award-winning reputation for high-end custom technology across Charleston and the Lowcountry. We hold the elite Cinergy Certified status, have received brand-level awards from Lutron, Savant, Samsung, Sony, and Alarm.com, and are a CEDIA award recipient - recognition that reflects a team respected and peer-reviewed across the custom integration industry.

We take pride in doing the job right and building relationships that last. We partner with architects, designers, and builders from a project's earliest design stages, then stay on as the homeowner's technology partner for service, retrofits, and updates for years after the project wraps.

Compensation & Benefits

  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Health insurance - company-subsidized
  • Company van - no need to put miles on your own vehicle
  • Paid training and ongoing manufacturer certifications
  • Paid time off - in addition to 5 paid holidays plus your birthday

Position Overview

The Project Manager oversees and supports technicians in the field who install, configure, and maintain integrated technology systems, providing leadership and structure on job sites — managing timelines, setting goals, assigning tasks, mentoring the team, and ensuring quality installations. This role demands advanced technical knowledge, including mastery of technician, programmer, and designer responsibilities.

What You'll Do

Project Oversight & Planning

  • Manage project scope, specifications, and applicable codes across multiple projects
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating daily tasks for technicians and subcontractors
  • Work with the Service Department to allocate resources effectively and minimize downtime
  • Provide regular progress reports to the Design Team, noting schedule adjustments, material needs, and labor status
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define scope, milestones, and expectations based on jobsite conditions

Technical Support & Supervision

  • Provide on-site technical support and guidance to installation teams
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, floor plans, and technical manuals
  • Demonstrate proficiency in programming and installation of integrated systems, including home automation and control systems, distributed audio/video, home theater systems, networking and data infrastructure, and surveillance/camera systems
  • Assist technicians with configuration and troubleshooting, including complex issues
  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance

Team Leadership & Development

  • Mentor and train technicians on installation standards, programming, best practices, and client communication
  • Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and teamwork
  • Evaluate technician performance and provide constructive feedback

Administrative & Equipment Management

  • Utilize D-Tools (or similar) project management software for scheduling, documentation, and progress tracking
  • Maintain company-issued tools, equipment, and vehicles in good working order
  • Ensure accurate and complete project documentation and perform additional duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in AV, lighting, or integration project management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across multiple technology platforms
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Preferred:

  • Working knowledge of D-Tools or similar project management software

Core Attributes:

  • Proactive and dependable, with a strong sense of ownership
  • Excellent interpersonal and client-facing communication skills
  • Calm and professional under pressure
  • Committed to maintaining quality, safety, and client satisfaction
  • Dedicated to mentoring team members and contributing to company growth
