Job Overview :
We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in Lewisville, TX. In this role, you will analyze technical documents, drawings, RFPs, and specifications to develop detailed material, labor, and cost estimates for building automation and facility control system projects. You will play a critical role in supporting the planning, budgeting, and bidding processes for Mission Critical (Data Center) or Advanced Manufacturing Infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities :
- Preconstruction Engineering Review : Analyze project plans, specifications, and technical data to prepare detailed cost estimates and labor requirements.
- Estimate Preparation : Compute cost factors for management purposes such as planning, organizing, scheduling, and preparing bids.
- Material Take-Off : Ability to provide material take-offs from mechanical and electrical P&IDs, process systems, and technical drawings.
- Cost Estimation : Use estimating tools and Excel to develop cost estimates, ensure accuracy, and maintain updated pricing databases.
- Client and Vendor Communication : Work closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss and refine estimates, resolving discrepancies and optimizing cost factors.
- Cost Analysis : Compare estimated costs with actual project costs to analyze any discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
- Change Order Management : Provide cost estimates for change orders within one business day, maintaining accuracy and timeliness.
- Continuous Improvement : Implement improvement procedures to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of cost estimating processes.
- Historical Data Management : Manage cost data for completed projects to use as reference for future estimates and trend analysis.
Required Qualifications :
Technical Knowledge :
Expertise in Building Automation Systems and / or Facility Control Systems for Mission Critical (Data Center) or Advanced Manufacturing Infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of HVAC Control Applications , PLC and / or DCS Systems , and Instrumentation and Control Valve Products . Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings .
Experience in Estimating :
Proven experience in developing estimates from 30% , 60% , and 90% design documents. Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency in Bluebeam and Adobe for working with PDFs.
Other Requirements :
Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Engineering Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
