With over 700 employees and growing, we have thousands of years of combined electrical utility experience to draw from when committing to provide our clients with a wide range of utility services. / ppThis role will be based out of our Benicia, CA location. / ppThe Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, including general ledger, job cost accounting, and financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, compliance with GAAP, SOX, and company policies, and provides leadership to the accounting and job cost teams. The Controller plays a key role in maintaining the companys SOX Risk Control Matrix (RCM), driving process improvements, supporting operational leadership, and fostering collaboration between Finance and Operations to deliver timely, accurate, and actionable financial insights. / ph3What Youll Do / h3ulliOversee accounting operations, including general ledger, job cost accounting, AP / AR, payroll, and fixed assets. / liliPrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP. / liliMaintain internal controls and ensure SOX compliance; manage audits and risk control documentation. / liliLead the job cost accounting team to ensure accurate project setup, cost tracking, and revenue recognition. / liliPartner with operations to analyze job performance and improve project profitability. / liliImplement standardized reporting and dashboards for financial and job cost visibility. / liliMentor and develop team members, fostering collaboration and accountability. / liliDrive process improvements, ERP optimization, and automation for efficiency. / liliSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to align with business objectives. / liliMonitor and manage financial risks, providing updates to leadership. / li / ulh3What Youll Bring / h3ulliBachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred). / lili7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles. / liliStrong knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance requirements. / liliExperience with job cost accounting and project-based financial reporting. / liliProficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. / liliProven ability to lead teams and manage cross-functional collaboration. / liliExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. / liliAbility to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. / li / ulpPay- $ 170,000 - $ 210,000 / Annually
