The Data & Database Engineering Manager leads a critical team within the Office of Data & Analytics, serving as the cornerstone of our data-informed campus. The team is dedicated to building and maintaining a scalable and reliable data infrastructure to drive innovation and informed decision-making. This scope encompasses treating data as a product, working closely with Data Stewards and the Analytics team to ensure trusted, high-quality data is available in a self-service format for the entire campus. A key focus is designing this data infrastructure to optimally support advanced AI systems, enabling both traditional data science and emerging Generative AI use cases. Additionally, the team is responsible for the vital administration, maintenance, performance, and uptime of the underlying relational databases that power essential campus operations.
This position is classified as predominantly remote with occasional visits to campus as needed. Working hours will be based on Pacific Standard Time (PST).
The full salary range for the Data Systems Manager is $103,100 - $196,300 annually. However, the pay scale for this position is up to $146,232 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, UCR is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.
