Job description
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to support the development, deployment, and continuous improvement of advanced autonomous robotic welding systems. This role sits at the intersection of industrial automation, artificial intelligence, and computer vision — supporting highly flexible robotic platforms designed to operate with minimal traditional programming.
This is an opportunity to work on next-generation automation systems that leverage AI to adapt to part variation, optimize weld quality, and increase manufacturing throughput.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement PLC and motion control systems for robotic welding cells
  • Integrate robotics, vision systems, sensors, and AI-enabled automation platforms
  • Develop and maintain HMI interfaces and system diagnostics
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and control system issues in production environments
  • Support commissioning and startup of automated welding systems
  • Collaborate with software, robotics, and AI teams to enhance system performance
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics, I/O layouts, and control documentation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, uptime, and scalability
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation or robotics controls
  • Strong PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms)
  • Experience integrating robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, or similar)

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
