Job Purpose
The Director of Pricing is responsible for leading the company's pricing strategy, governance, and execution to drive profitable growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will develop and implement strategic pricing frameworks, processes, and tools that align with the company's business objectives and market positioning.
The Director of Pricing will partner closely with sales leadership, field teams, finance, supply chain, and executive leadership to optimize pricing structures, improve margin performance, and ensure consistent pricing practices across the organization. This leader will serve as the company's primary authority on pricing strategy and will help the organization adapt quickly to changing market dynamics, including supply chain shifts, tariff impacts, and global market pressures.
Job Duties
- Develop and lead the company's enterprise pricing strategy across multiple product lines and markets.
- Establish pricing governance, policies, and approval processes across the organization.
- Serve as the company's primary leader and subject matter expert on pricing strategy, execution, and pricing discipline.
- Work directly with sales leadership and field teams to ensure pricing strategies support customer acquisition, retention, and profitable revenue growth.
- Provide pricing guidance and support for complex or strategic deals.
- Align pricing approaches across regions, channels, and product segments.
- Lead pricing strategies across domestic and international markets.
- Monitor and adjust pricing based on global economic conditions, market dynamics, tariffs, and regulatory considerations.
- Develop pricing strategies that can quickly pivot in response to market changes, competitive pressures, supply constraints, or geopolitical shifts.
- Partner with supply chain, procurement, and finance teams to ensure pricing reflects cost structures, sourcing changes, and logistics impacts.
- Evaluate the pricing implications of tariffs, import/export costs, and global supply chain fluctuations.
- Support margin protection strategies when cost pressures arise.
- Develop pricing models, margin analysis, and competitive pricing intelligence to support data-driven decision making.
- Monitor pricing performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability and price realization.
- Provide executive-level reporting and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team.
- Design and implement scalable pricing processes, tools, and governance structures.
- Improve pricing transparency and consistency across the organization.
- Establish standard operating procedures for pricing reviews, approvals, and adjustments.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Strategy teams to align pricing decisions with broader business goals.
- Support go-to-market strategies, new product introductions, and market expansion initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 810+ years of experience in pricing strategy, revenue management, commercial strategy, or related leadership roles.
- 8-10+ years in a distribution/retail environment overseeing 10K SKUs
- Demonstrated experience managing pricing across multiple product lines or product portfolios.
- Experience working in international or global markets, including understanding regional pricing dynamics.
- Knowledge of supply chain cost structures, tariffs, and global sourcing impacts on pricing decisions.
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and pricing analytics capabilities.
- Experience partnering closely with sales and field teams to drive commercial outcomes.
- Proven ability to influence senior leadership and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Ability to adapt pricing strategy quickly in response to changing market conditions.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
