Salary : $14.00
The Domestic Violence Survivor Advocate will provide immediate crisis intervention, safety planning, support, information, and referrals to survivors of domestic violence through the RCCAC Domestic Violence Assistance Program, both on the agencys crisis hotline and on-site at the RCCAC office and / or shelter. We are looking for individuals who are available nights and weekends.
Supervisory Responsibilities : No
Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide trauma-informed direct services to victims of domestic violence abuse including support, advocacy, crisis intervention, safety planning, information, and referrals to the crisis hotline, with walk-ins, and at the shelter.
Consistently uphold shelter and program policy and guidelines.
Monitor and mediate shelter community problems and resident conflicts.
Take appropriate steps to deal with emergency situations with the goal of maintaining the safety of all clients.
Know and understand all community resources to make appropriate referrals.
Provide follow-up services to all clients.
Maintain client files, agency files, data, forms, and other record keeping as required.
Complete all paperwork and enter it into the client records database in a timely manner.
Adhere to agency policies and procedures, including strict adherence to DV program confidentiality policies and code of ethics.
Attend and actively participate in agency meetings as required.
Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the organization and DV program.
Knowledge of domestic violence issues and program best practices.
Ability to work with diverse populations.
Ability to interact sensitively with traumatized populations and to handle crisis appropriately.

Education / Experience :
High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Associates Degree in related field (preferred)
One years experience working with victims of domestic violence preferred.
Experience working with trauma survivors preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft office suite.
Physical / Employment Requirements :
Pass pre-employment screenings.
Ability to lift up to 40lbs, stand, sit, and
