Job Description

Ultra I&C is hiring Model Based Systems Engineers to join us in our Austin, TX Development Center and Corporate Headquarters. This position will lead a variety of system design and development efforts across a series of new programs within our organization. The Systems Engineer will tackle complex technical challenges and provide expert-level analysis and judgment in support of critical defense programs.

Responsibilities :

• Performs a variety of design and development of integrated avionics and communications systems.
• Provides expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.
• Resolves highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.
• Must be able to defend work and design approach following a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and / or procedures.
• Relies on applicable experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Works to place planning and reflection cadences into use across multiple project teams with the goal of synchronizing team members and activities.
• Strives to increase the efficiency of development practices by guiding the flow, architecture, design quality, code quality, system quality, and release quality of deliverables.
• Familiar with a variety of the Systems Engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Mentor junior engineering candidates in Systems Engineering best practices.
• Develops / writes system test plans and procedures in accordance with industry standards (IEEE Standard for Software Test Documentation etc.).
• Simulates end-user operations and executes test procedures.
• Supports the generation of testable requirements and designs test bed architecture.
• Writes detailed test cases and articulates results in chosen software development lifecycle management tool (e.g., Digital.ai Agility, JIRA etc.)
