Job descriptionLab processing of items of evidence Latent print analysis NIBIN test fire entry and analysis Collaborate closely with detectives, officers, and other units within the department Maintain accurate reports, logs, and chain of custody documentation Participate in continuing education and cross-training within the unit Support community-focused forensic services in a team-based environment A self-starter who is dependable and takes initiative Works well in a close-knit, team-based environment Flexible and adaptable, with an interest in multiple forensic disciplines Willing and able to wear "multiple hats" within the unit Committed to professional growth and helping shape the future of a growing forensic team Has a strong work ethic and a passion for public service Be part of a small but expanding forensic team with opportunities for specialization and growth Collaborate in an environment where your contributions are valued and visible Enjoy the variety of working in both field and lab settings Serve a community where your work makes a difference every day Many perks, including power hour, opportunities to earn days off by completing the Cooper's Test Challenge, flexible schedule, and a focus on mental health Associate's degree or equivalent in Forensic Science or related field. 1-2 years experience in same or similar previous positions. Arizona Criminal Justice Information System Terminal Operator Certification within 6 months of hire. Associate degree (or higher) in Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, Photography, or a related field OR multiple years of hands-on forensic experience processing crime scenes or comparisons of latent prints Valid driver's license Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Willingness to work in physically demanding, messy, and sometimes unpleasant environments (e.g., outdoor crime scenes, biological hazards, odors, extreme temperatures) Willingness to be part of an on-call rotation for 24 / 7 coverage Candidates that do not meet the minimum requirements may be considered for Forensic Specialist Assistant
