QUALIFICATIONS :
- Any combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to the completion of a high school diploma.
- Prior experience operating and maintaining diesel, gasoline, and electrically powered motors and machinery and applicable attachments.
- Previous horticulture experience preferred.
- Ability to sufficiently read and understand labels, instructions, and directions as they pertain to work performance, safety, and record keeping aspects of the job.
- Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Demonstrates effective human relations and communication skills.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The individual who holds this position is regularly required to walk, hear and speak and must have close moderate and distance vision ability. This individual must be able to travel between district facilities. The position requires a person to lift 140 lbs. 0-24 inches, carry 80 lbs. 10 feet, and kneel / squat for 30 seconds.
CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT : The work environment is consistent with grounds / mowing work and spends a significant amount of time outside during all seasons.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : Salary and work calendar to be established by the Board of Education. Benefits according to Board policies.
FLSA : Non-exempt

CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES : Class F Driver’s License
