As a Contract Attorney on our Writing Team, you will play a crucial role in shaping high-quality, writing-intensive casework for clients navigating complex immigration pathways. From crafting compelling legal arguments to ensuring regulatory compliance, you will contribute directly to achieving our clients' immigration goals while leveraging technology and a collaborative team environment.
This role is ideal for detail-oriented, self-motivated attorneys with exceptional writing skills and a passion for immigration law.
What You Will Do
Legal Writing and Case Strategy :
Conduct detailed reviews of client-submitted drafts for recommendation letters, case strategy sheets, legal briefs, and evidence compilations.
Ensure clarity, legal accuracy, and persuasive narrative flow in written deliverables. Draft or provide substantive feedback to enhance the quality of recommendation letters and case briefs, emphasizing achievements, metrics, and compliance with USCIS requirements.
Evidence and Form Review :
Assess evidence compilations for completeness, relevance, and alignment with case strategies.
Verify forms for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with USCIS guidelines.
Identify and communicate gaps or inconsistencies to ensure a streamlined filing process.
Collaboration and Feedback :
Collaborate with writing team members to finalize recommendation letters, legal briefs, and case strategies.
Provide clear and actionable feedback to ensure consistent quality and adherence to organizational standards.
Partner with internal teams to refine processes and incorporate feedback for continuous improvement.
Compliance and Best Practices :
Adhere to legal and ethical standards, ensuring all deliverables meet USCIS regulations and organizational quality benchmarks.
Stay updated on immigration law trends and integrate changes into your work as appropriate.
About You
Legal Expertise :
Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
2+ years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on writing-intensive case types (e.g., EB-1A, EB-2 NIW, O-1, or similar categories).
Exceptional Writing Skills :
Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality, persuasive legal writing.
Strong attention to detail, grammar, and logical structure in written communications.
Client-Centric Mindset :
Passionate about delivering exceptional service and achieving the best possible outcomes for clients.
Ability to understand and communicate complex legal concepts in an accessible manner.
Self-Starter and Team Player :
Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a remote team.
Proactive, resourceful, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Tech-Savvy :
Familiarity with tools such as Google Drive, Adobe Acrobat, and Slack.
Comfortable adapting to new technologies and workflow management platforms.
