HVAC Technician Job DescriptionAPEX General Inc.

Position Summary

APEX General Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated HVAC Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, customer-oriented, and capable of delivering high-quality workmanship while representing the company professionally in the field.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Install residential and commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heating and cooling equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and control system issues.
• Install and replace furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, mini-split systems, package units, and rooftop units.
• Perform system startups, testing, and commissioning.
• Measure and verify system performance including airflow, temperature split, refrigerant charge, voltage, and amperage.
• Complete preventative maintenance inspections and provide recommendations to customers.
• Maintain accurate job notes, photos, and documentation within company software.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, local codes, and safety regulations.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in clean working condition.
• Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, project managers, and team members.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years HVAC installation and/or service experience preferred.
• EPA Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, electrical components, and refrigeration cycles.
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and outdoor environments.

Preferred Certifications

• EPA Universal Certification
• NATE Certification
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Manufacturer Training Certifications

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
• Climb ladders and work at heights.
• Work in varying weather conditions.
• Stand, kneel, bend, and crouch for extended periods.
