Job Title : Instructional Paraeducator Specialist for Future Readiness Program
Department : Desert Vista Elementary
Reports To : Classroom Teacher and Building Principal
FLSA Status : Nonexempt - At-Will Position
Position Status : Full Time Position
Salary : Range 109 based on experience $15.59 to $19.77 - determined by Human Resources upon hiring.
- Extra monies may be awarded for college credit earned beyond a high school diploma; official transcripts will be required.
SUMMARY
Works under supervision in the performance of the following instructional tasks in classroom, and to assist teacher of elementary or secondary school by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
Prepares various teaching aids such as bibliographies, charts, and graphs.
Presents subject matter to students, utilizing variety of methods and techniques such as lecture, discussion, and supervised role playing.
Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
Assist teacher with updating and maintaining accurate student records.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
