NC Programmer

We are seeking a skilled NC Programmer to interpret drawings and models, creating programs that leverage modern machining methodologies, work holding, cutter selections, and cutting speeds and feeds. The role aims to optimize production and ensure that quality parts are manufactured in accordance with customer specifications. Additionally, you will use software to validate cutting paths, design tooling and holding fixtures, and create production setup documents.

Responsibilities

• Provide shop support during the tool proving process for new and updated programs, and offer daily support for problem solving and process improvements.
• Evaluate and integrate shop machinist feedback into existing programs and processes in a timely manner.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Understand and apply quality system requirements to work processes.

Essential Skills

• Expert-level knowledge of CATIA v5 and machine simulation.
• Skilled in high-speed machining techniques of aluminum and/or hard metals; experience with Makino brand machines preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to follow manufacturing practices designed to optimize production.
• Ability to design tooling and fixtures in CATIA v5.
• Proficient understanding of G&M-Code.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and 3D GD&T information.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of Aerospace inspection processes and FAI documentation requirements.
• Knowledge of ITAR and ISO & QA 9000/9001 compliance.
• Working knowledge of CATIA v5 data structure.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately assess work effort, organize, prioritize tasks, and complete them under time constraints.
• Comfortable in a shop-floor environment and in working with production personnel to solve problems.
• Well-developed keyboarding skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is an engineering office space, operating Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a local aviation supplier, aimed at leading tool design programming at the site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
