It's about creating infrastructure that connects people, communities, and businesses-and we're looking for an experienced Transportation Engineer, PE to help lead that work.If you're a licensed engineer with strong transportation experience, a solid understanding of DOT projects, and a desire to take ownership of meaningful work, we'd like to meet you.Salary: $95,000–$135,000, depending on experience and qualifications.Put Your Experience to WorkAs a Transportation Engineer, PE, you'll have the opportunity to lead projects from concept through construction while serving as a trusted technical resource for clients, agencies, and your project team.You'll work with the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT), municipalities, and regulatory agencies on transportation projects that directly impact the communities we serve.Your responsibilities will include:Leading transportation and roadway projects from planning through constructionServing as Engineer of Record on applicable projectsPreparing roadway and highway designs, plans, specifications, and technical documentsManaging project scope, schedules, budgets, and quality controlCoordinating with clients, agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary teamsReviewing technical work and mentoring developing engineersSupporting proposals, client relationships, and transportation business developmentDeveloping practical, cost-effective solutions to complex transportation challengesWe're looking for someone who brings technical expertise and understands that successful projects are built on communication, accountability, and strong relationships.What You BringBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited programCurrent Professional Engineer (PE) license; ability to obtain North Dakota licensure through reciprocity6+ years of progressive transportation civil engineering experienceExperience with state DOTs; NDDOT experience is highly valuedExperience managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverablesStrong knowledge of transportation design principles and DOT standardsProficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or OpenRoads DesignerStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsWe're especially interested in engineers who are ready to lead projects, mentor others, build client relationships, and help shape the future of a growing transportation practice.Why Ackerman-Estvold?Ackerman-Estvold is a full-service architecture and civil engineering consulting firm serving clients throughout North Dakota, Montana, and Idaho.
