Responsibilities:
The Java Developer will support Barrow Wise's State of Illinois project and perform the following duties:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java, J2EE, SQL Server, Liferay Portal, DotCMS, ESB, JBSS, Spring, Hibernate, Node JS, Angular JS, and View JS.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement software solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal application performance.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to application development and changes. - Ensure best practices in software development are followed, including code quality and security.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment and maintenance.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
- Work remotely, or in Chicago, IL/Rockville, MD
An ideal candidate has the following:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Bachelor's degree
- Six years as a Java Developer, with a solid understanding of Java and related frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate); JavaScript, RESTful APIs, Liferay Portal, DotCMS, ESB, JBOSS, Node JS, Angular JS, and View JS..
- A passion for problem-solving and a commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
