Job Summary

We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team! As a Medical Assistant, you will be preparing for each patient visit with chart prep and pulling notes before their arrival, providing routine support alongside nurses and medical staff, and assisting with keeping track of tests and lab reporting to ensure everything arrives on time and the patient is kept informed on their condition and care. You will also be helping manage the inventory of medical supplies, setting up machines and testing equipment, and cleaning instruments and rooms as needed. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, an interest in learning more about a working medical environment, and has previous office experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature
• Prepare patients for examinations and performs routine screening tests
• Assist physician with exams and procedures
• Phlebotomy and collection of other lab specimens
• Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedure
• Prepare and administer medications and injections with physician authorization
• Facilitate prescriptions and authorizations
• Prep exam rooms and maintain supplies, equipment, stock and sterilizes instruments
• Work assigned task through the EHR
• Act a liaison between the patient the providers

Accurately obtain and / or relay pertinent information and document accordingly, such as :

• Vitals, family, social, and past medical history
• Patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Prescriptions
• Instructions for patient self-care and follow-up

Qualifications

• BLS Certification or Certified Medical Assistant Required
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
