About Merchandising at Sephora :
Our merchandising team is constantly building brands, starting trends, and developing entirely new product categories. These experts roll up their sleeves and advise our brands on the best way to bring our clients what they crave—and what they will be craving soon. Our product pipeline is so robust and exciting that many of the items that will be most in-demand in our stores next year don't even exist yet. And our merchants don't stop at selection—they bring the assortment to life through breakthrough curation and storytelling across our stores and digital properties.
Your role at Sephora :
As a Director in Hair Merchandising, you will be responsible for developing objectives and brand strategies for the assigned category and brands for the US market. You will implement department objectives / projects, brand and client strategies and visual presentations within your assigned brands and the product world to meet financial objectives. As a Director of Merchandising, you will be responsible for achieving financial and strategic goals of the category - sales, gross margin, weeks of supply and stock turnover, while also developing and coaching a team. Reporting to the SVP, you will develop and implement department objectives, brand strategies, client needs and visual presentation within the category. You will also partner with the SWAK team and own total hair category promotional strategy.
- Develop and execute overall strategy for growth with new product introductions and strategic expansion of current brands
- Source and develop new brands that fill an important need gap within the category; analyze and manage all elements of a category to identify areas of opportunity
- Develop and manage brand relationships, terms negotiations, including margin, testers / damages, training support, co-op, RTVs, samples; as well as assortment and plan promotions, launches, animations for brands within category strategy

- Interpret and communicate management direction to team members within business unit to ensure that each initiative is developed within the desired timeline
- Communicate brand and business opportunities to stores
- Manage fixture / plannogram planning and implementation, plan promotions, launches, animations and marketing activities with internal partners
- Develop, mentor and train team and direct report

The annual base salary range for this position is $170,000.00- $184,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and / or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
