Supply Chain Manager - Secondary Packaging What you will do

Lets do this. Lets change the world. In this vital role you will be responsible for leading and supervising a Secondary Packaging Area, including the packaging process and business systems. You will lead and empower employees to perform a production process to fulfill business goals. Additionally, will partner with the Warehouse and Distribution Team to support site level requirements.

  • Responsible for selection, training, performance evaluations, staff relations, and development of staff as the best talent, to assure personnel consistently follows HR policies, SOPs, business practices, business conduct expectations, and Amgen Values.
  • Partner with Supply Chain Support organization for staff, resources and management of process and area related issues.
  • Lead Functional Area metric; Report and provide action plans to improve performance to aligned with plant goals
  • Active & effective presence on the floor to ensure an active role in the day-to-day activities, implements quality integrity checks and ensures regulatory compliance of operating areas, ensure schedule adherence and review / approve executed batch records.
  • Support Warehouse activities related to product packaged in the secondary packaging area (e.g. printed material receipt, product receipt, scheduling product sample / site-to-site shipments)

The Process Owner responsibilities will consist of, but not limited to :

  • Support process / equipment characterization and validation efforts, evaluate and approve reports and protocols
  • Own secondary packaging process / equipment procedures, forms, and manufacturing procedures, quality records related to the packaging area
  • Update manufacturing batch records in the manufacturing execution system (MES) and lead process improvements)
  • The Business Owner responsibilities will consist of, but not limited to :

  • Business owner for the MES and Systech Guardian, own Data Integrity Assessments (i.e. EBR, MES, Systec, Guardian, etc...
  • Support validation and access periodic reviews, validation activities related to business systems
  • Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Assure corporate quality records (i.e. change control, deviation, CAPA) procedures are followed, and that the Regulatory and Quality Assurance partners are advised prior to the changes
  • Ensure maintenance and re-validation of systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (i.e. Quality Assurance / Quality Control, Production Planning & Inventory Control (PPIC), Process Development, Regulatory, etc.) in completing production activities

    Basic Qualifications :

    Doctorate degree or

    Masters degree and 3 years of Manufacturing experience or

    Bachelors degree and 5 years of Manufacturing experience or

    Associates degree and 10 years of Manufacturing experience or

    High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Manufacturing experience

    In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have experience directly managing people and / or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

    Preferred Qualifications :

  • Advanced degree in Mechatronics, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge and / or experience of pharmaceutical / biotech processes, especially in the area of secondary packaging operations
  • Familiarity with validation processes for Secondary Packaging areas
  • Familiarity with serialization process and networking
  • Familiarity with documentation in a highly regulated environment
  • Ability to operate specialized equipment, tools and computers as appropriate.
  • Ability to interpret and apply GAMPs and GMPs and familiarity with documentation in a highly regulated environment.
  • Ability to apply engineering science to production.
  • Able to develop solutions to routine technical problems
  • Comprehensive understanding of protocol requirements.
  • Organizational, project management, problem-solving, and technical writing capability
  • Excellent communication (verbal / written) and presentation skills
  • Interpersonal skills including; collaboration, influencing, and facilitation
  • Dealing with and handling change
  • Packaging Equipment Technical knowledge
  • Analytical Problem Solving
  • Understanding of Operational Excellence and Lean Transformation
  • 1 to 3+ years of supervisory experience

    The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
