We are currently in the search for a Controller to join our team in Oakland, California. This role is integral to our industry, where you will be tasked with managing Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, CRM, and Crystal Reports. This role offers an exciting employment opportunity.

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee daily tasks related to accounting, such as general ledger handling, accounts payable / receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards in maintaining accounting records.
  • Manage both monthly and yearly closing processes, with an emphasis on accurate and reconciled entries.
  • Formulate, apply, and uphold internal controls to secure company assets and maintain accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Regularly monitor compliance with tax regulations and other legal mandates, additionally managing the preparation of associated filings and documents.
  • Uphold corporate governance, policies, and procedures across all financial divisions.
  • Supervise company cash flow management, specifically maintaining sufficient liquidity for operations and capital expenditures.
  • Provide insightful financial recommendations to aid in strategic business decisions and growth initiatives.
  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or Finance
  • Should possess in-depth knowledge of accounting practices specific to law firms
  • Requires at least 7 years of experience in a supervisory or management role within Finance and Accounting, preferably in a law firm or professional services setting
  • Proven capability as a proactive self-starter, consistently achieving company goals on time and within budget
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all firm levels, both in writing and verbally
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software
  • Demonstrated skill in leading and developing a team in a dynamic, law firm environment
