Job description

The Estimator supports the team by conducting site visits, gathering job information, preparing basic estimates, and helping maintain customer relationships. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working outdoors, communicating with customers, and learning the foundations of estimating and project scoping.

You will receive training in:

Pavement assessments
Estimating techniques
Proposal writing
Customer communication
CRM and workflow processes

Key Responsibilities:

The Estimator should prepare and submit all contract submittal documents and insure they are properly executed. Key areas of responsibility include:

General Contractor coordination with submittals and change orders
Project schedules, material requests and approvals.
Onsite meeting with GC.
Coordination with Operations Manager and Project Manager
Invoicing for completed projects
Assure accuracy of submittals and coordination of work.
Submit contract change orders negotiate in writing prior to the work being accomplished
Respond timely to all owner and GC correspondence

Perform field measurements and determine the necessary scope of work.
Provides estimating using software for public and private projects.
Use Microsoft program to estimate cost
Use CRM

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience

College or technical education preferred
Two years previous experience in bidding, estimating, project coordination, or field management preferred. College Graduate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related field will be considered in place of experience.
Experience with supervisory skills, production, safety and operations
Proficient with Windows based computerized systems
Must possess strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Self-motivated with good communication skills
Respond to questions, concerns, and follow-ups in a timely manner
Ability to follow-up with clients and retain and build long term relationships
Able to prospect and market.
Understands written and/or verbal instructions
Understands the seasonality of the work and is willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
Safety minded professional who demonstrates consistency
