Job Description

  • Directly manage a growing team of approximately 2-4 staff members.
  • Responsible for staffing activities, including interviewing, training, performance evaluations, guiding workload, providing coaching, and managing corrective action when needed.
  • Ensure all leadership actions align with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee day-to-day performance of customer operations and purchasing, ensuring responsive communication with clients and suppliers.
  • Establish and uphold service benchmarks such as inquiry response times, quote turnaround, order confirmations, supplier commitments, and delivery accuracy.
  • Monitor and report on essential business performance indicators.
  • Serve as a primary contact for escalated customer or supplier issues, driving timely resolutions and supporting root-cause analysis.
  • Manage processes related to aging or obsolete inventory.
  • Act as a liaison with internal teams to support cross-functional needs and resolve operational roadblocks.
  • Approve setup and onboarding for new customers and vendors.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales performance compared to targets.
  • Complete additional assignments as directed by leadership.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Purchasing / Customer Service Manager should have :

  • Bachelor's degree and / or 5-7 years of relevant experience in purchasing, operations, customer service, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of leadership / supervisor experience.
  • Proficiency with business software such as inventory and contract management systems, project management tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Epicor or similar ERP platforms is beneficial.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
