  • Perform electrical and controls diagnostics on new installations, modernizations, and existing equipment in the field and in our shop.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to complete service and installation tasks accurately.
  • Conduct functional testing and system commissioning to verify proper operation of low voltage controls and safety systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanics, electricians, and project teams to ensure seamless integration of controls during equipment repairs, upgrades, and new installations.
  • Document all work performed, including service reports, parts used, and time tracking, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in control systems and recommend upgrades or modifications to enhance safety and performance.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA standards, NFPA 70 (NEC), and company HSE policies while working at customer sites and in the facility.
  • Provide technical support and training to customers and junior technicians as needed.
  • Travel to customer sites within the assigned territory as required (local and regional travel).

Education and Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Technical school, vocational training, or Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology, Controls, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience working with low voltage control systems in an industrial environment (crane, hoist, material handling, or heavy equipment experience strongly preferred).
  • Solid understanding of low voltage electrical systems (typically 24–480V), motor controls, VFDs, and basic PLC programming/troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, ladder logic, and control schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC) & OHSA regulations and safe work practices in industrial settings (Cal/OSHA knowledge a plus).
  • Professional certifications such as NCCCO, CMAA, or electrical/controls-related certifications are a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and in various outdoor and indoor industrial environments.
